A DECONSTRUCTION. Ground Works

work done in YEAR 1, AY 17/18

This exercise was to help inspire us for 'Project 1', where our proposed house design was to be based off a
particular artist's works or methods.

KAZIMIR MALEVICH

A Russian painter and art theoretician. A pioneer of geometric abstract art and the originator of the avant-garde

Suprematist movement. Malevich uses a white canvas background for his works. To him, the white background

symbolises infinity and gives a sense of the unknown that allows viewers to have endless perceptions of the

artwork in front of them as nothing is fixed.

some of Malevich's works include...
Airplane Flying (1915), Black Square(1915), Suprematist Composition (1916)

These models are my interpretations on the artist's technique into a physical model.

Egoistic Model

prominent direction due to the 2 lines that act as an axis.

Alter-Ego Model

If there's no fixed direction in the work that Malevich does.
